Queens Cosmetic Dentistry – All of the Options Available to You for Cosmetic Dentistry

The field of cosmetic dentistry has come a long way in the past few decades. It used to be that the main choice that people had when it came to fixing their teeth alignment was metal braces. That is not true any longer. These days, there are so many options out there for those who are looking to improve their smiles. Because of all the advances in dental technology, cosmetic dentistry has become a very popular career choice for those wanting to work in the dental sciences. As a result, any given city has several dentists who specialize in this line of dental work. So, if you are in the market to correct your smile, you will not have a difficult time finding a dentist for the job.

The most common thing that people go get cosmetic dentistry for is to straighten and align their teeth. This is primarily done with braces. Hearing the words, “You need braces,” used to be a nightmare come true for young teenagers. The reason for this is that it used to be that metal braces were the only option. These are garish and highly noticeable. Now, there are two other options: porcelain braces and Invisalign clear aligners. Porcelain braces are white and can blend in with the color of the teeth. It is still noticeable that you have braces; it just is not as harsh as the metal ones. The only downside is that the porcelain braces require even more upkeep than the metal ones do – which require enough, when you think about it. The other alternative is to get Invisalign clear aligners. These are not very noticeable because they are clear and fit right over your teeth. The best part is that they require little upkeep because you take them out when you eat or drink. They are much more than regular braces though, so that is something to keep in mind.

Another aspect of cosmetic dentistry is getting porcelain veneers. This is the option that many people go when they either do not want to wait for the teeth aligning that they would get from braces or if they need corrective cosmetic dentistry immediately. It is reported that many people in show business utilize porcelain veneers in order to make their smiles much better than they were originally. The way that the porcelain veneers work is the dentist takes a very thin “slice” of porcelain and bonds it to your tooth. You can choose the shade of the veneer as well as the shape and size. One of the best parts, aside from the fact that the porcelain veneers work as instant orthodontics, is that you do it tooth by tooth. That means that you do not have to use them on all of your teeth. Instead you can just have them applied to the ones that you need to in order to improve your smile. Depending on how many porcelain veneers you have applied, the cost can be cheaper than braces, but it can also be much more than braces. You pay for convenience though.

Other aspects of cosmetic dentistry include teeth whitening and dental implants. Teeth whitening is something that many people want. One good thing about it is that there are a lot of ways in which you can achieve whiter teeth. You can go in to your dentist and have them apply whitening solution to your teeth or you can do at-home teeth whitening. Some of the most well-known and trust toothpaste brands not only have whitening toothpastes, but they also have teeth whitening trays that you can use in order to get that whiter smile. Then, if you have any missing teeth and want that corrected, you can go to your dentist and have dental implants put in. This is a handy part of the cosmetic dentistry world because it allows you to fix your smile when you lose all or part of a tooth. So, now, if you have a missing tooth that is located in or near the front of your mouth, you do not have to live with that embarrassment. Instead you can get it taken care of at your cosmetic dentist with a dental implant.

My name is Jonathan and I'm a pro-wrestler. I had this problem with my smile- I just didn't like it. I would not laugh as much or smile in picutres but since I came to Atlas Park Dental my dentist helped give me the smile I always wanted. I can't stop smiling, laughing, and just feeling more comfortable when I talk. Thank you! - Red
